Digital Motion X-ray

DMX Logo

Digital Motion X-Ray isn’t an imaging tool that many have heard of, but at Colorado Injury Center, we find it incredibly important in diagnosing injuries — particularly ones that are a result of car accidents.

This unique method of imaging sort of serves as a middleman between traditional x-rays and MRIs. X-rays will only indicate if there’s a fracture or dislocation. MRIs will only turn out positive if damage to the discs has been sustained. Digital Motion X-Rays catch everything in between.

Shoulder X-Ray

Digital Motion X-Rays detect ligament damage that can only be seen when there’s movement, which is the case with whiplash. Because traditional x-rays and MRIs are static tests, many injuries slip by unnoticed. Digital Motion X-Rays take 30 pictures per second and captures all 22 major ligaments of the cervical spine.

The result is a definitive answer for why someone might be experiencing neck pain or headaches when standard x-rays and MRIs couldn’t offer a solution. It likely won’t be long until Digital Motion X-Rays are a medical standard because of the prohibitive value they offer in finding previously undiagnosable injuries. Right now, it’s one of the most valuable services we provide for our patients at Colorado Injury Center.
